The start of the holiday season means the countdown to the end of the fall semester for University of North Carolina at Wilmington students.
But after just a few short weeks, UNCW students will find themselves back in session with the start of the Spring 2023 semester. To ensure students have the critical dates in mind for spring and summer 2023 at UNC Wilmington, here’s a rundown of what you need to know to prepare for the upcoming terms at UNCW.
Students at the University of North Carolina Wilmington have an entire month off for winter break, which runs from December 15th through January 11th.
The last day of classes for the Fall 2022 semester is Wednesday, December 7th, and students then have a one-day reading period to study for their final exams, which begin on December 9th. Final exams run from December 9th through the 15th, although not all students will have to be on-campus through the last day of finals, as schedules vary by course and department.
Commencement for those students graduating at the end of the Fall 2022 semester takes place on Saturday, December 17th. The remaining undergraduates can view their Fall 2022 final grades after 2 pm on Monday, December 19th.
The Spring 2023 semester at UNC Wilmington starts on Wednesday, January 11th. Students will not have classes on Monday, January 16th, in recognition of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, so the first week of spring classes won’t be until January 23rd.
Thursday, January 19th, is the last day to register for Spring 2023 classes and to drop or add a class to your schedule. Monday-only classes can be added or slipped through the following Monday, January 23rd.
University of North Carolina Wilmington students are considered full-time when enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.
