Students living in one of the on-campus residence halls at UNC Wilmington must have an All-Access (Hawk) meal plan but can choose among the available options.
Students living in one of the apartment-style residence halls on campus or in an off-campus community are not required to have a meal plan but can choose any of the plans available if opting to take their meals on campus.
The cost of meal plans at UNC Wilmington range from $2,422 – $549 per semester (plus applicable taxes) depending on whether it includes all-access swipes in the dining halls and the number of Teal Meals and Food Dollar available.

University Dining offers a change period window for each semester, during which students can change their meal plan.
However, the window only extends into the first few weeks of the semester. For example, the Spring 2023 meal plan starts on January 6, 2023, and students only have until January 20th to change their meal plan.
Students do not have the option to cancel a meal plan entirely unless they are withdrawing from the University.
Students must provide proof of their withdrawal to receive a prorated refund on their pre-purchased semester meal plan.

Yes, four restaurants in the UNC Wilmington student union accept Teal Meals as part of the meal plan offerings:
Several full-size and specialty grocery stores are west of the UNC Wilmington campus along College Road and Oleander Drive.
These offerings include Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods Market, Harris Teeter, and Lidl. Most of these require a car to access, or students can use one of the university shuttles for grocery shopping.
